The General Federation of Woman's Club is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.s. The Newington/Wethersfield Women's Club was founded by Eleanor G. Fischer in February 1998. The first meeting was held at the Wethersfield Public Library. The Club was Federated in October 1999.
Our goal is to be of Service to others, improve our social, cultural and Physical environment and appreciation of the arts. We strive to become responsible leaders in our communities,

GFWC continues to partner with Newington Human Services, CTFoodshare and the Transition Academy in a Supplemental Food Program, helping families with school age children who experience food insecurity.
GFWC- Signature Program is to increase awareness of and help prevent the widespread occurrence of Domestic Violence and Sexual and Campus Assault. We will accomplish this by working with various organizations who have established programs.
Raising awareness in support for these programs using social media , by holding events with speakers to help with the educational opportunities to those who have no voice.
Work together to advocate for survivors of domestic or sexual violence in our local communities and how to raise awareness.
One in Three women and One in Thirty-three men Experience some form of sexual violence
Domestic Violence on average nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by their partner in the United States.
